The following legal services have each committed to joining the ICV Islamophobia Support referral network and offered to provide support and services to the community. They have all provided information to the ICV to demonstrate about their qualifications, registrations, memberships and ability to provide culturally appropriate services. MUSLIM LEGAL NETWORK

Muslim Legal Network’s free Legal Referral Service seeks provide the wider Victorian Muslim community with a trusted legal referral service for legal advice, assistance and court representation. The referral panel includes community legal centres, government organisations, a panel of member practitioners and accredited specialists.

  • All Muslim Legal Network practitioners hold an unrestricted practising certificate and minimum qualification of an undergraduate qualification in Law

FITZROY LEGAL SERVICE

Fitzroy Legal Service offer free legal advice, casework, information and referrals, with areas of practice including: criminal law, family law, family violence, infringements, victims of crime assistance, civil law, tenancy and employment law. A fee-paying service is available for some criminal law matters (in limited circumstances.

  • Eligibility guidelines apply for the Fitzroy Legal Service Day Practice
  • No catchment area requirements apply for the Fitzroy Legal Service Night Service Telephone interpreter services available as required

The Police Accountability Project provides assistance with complaints about racialised policing.

Loddon Campaspe Community Legal Centre offer a free legal information, advice, referrals and some casework to people living in Bendigo, Loddon, Campaspe, Mt Alexander, Central Goldfields and parts of the Macedon Ranges. Areas of practice include: general civil matters, complaints about Government services, minor crime, family violence, family law, child protection, as well as credit and debt.

MONASH LAW CLINICS

Monash Law Clinics is a free community legal centre supported by State and Federal Governments and the Faculty of Law, Monash University. Monash Law Clinics is also a teaching facility and client files are managed by students under the supervision. Priority is given to clients who disadvantaged for health or financial reasons and also those impacted by family violence.

Northern Community Legal Centre provides free legal advice for residents of Hume, Moreland and Mitchel for people on low incomes. In some instances, ongoing casework and legal representation is provided. Services can be offered across a range of legal issues, including: immigration issues, employment rights, family violence, family law, tenancy disputes, managing debt or disputing fines, and criminal offences.
